Experience · Private cooking class

A private cooking class, then everyone at the table

An afternoon with your hands in the dough and an evening at the table eating what you made. A private cooking class is the simplest way to take a piece of Tuscany home: not a course, but a few hours in the kitchen with a chef who shows you how it is done.

We hold it in the kitchen of your villa or your home, for two people or a group, in Italian or in the guests' language. At the end we lay the table and turn the lesson into a real dinner, served at the table.

How it works

We arrive with all the ingredients and tools needed. The chef explains what we will prepare, shares out the work and guides you step by step: kneading, rolling the dough, cutting, dressing. Nobody needs to know how to cook to take part, and those who already do always pick up a new trick.

While you are in the kitchen, our team lays the table. When the pasta is ready you sit down to eat, with a glass of local wine.

What you learn

We almost always start from fresh pasta, because it is the most Italian gesture and the one people most enjoy repeating at home: tagliatelle, hand-rolled pici, filled ravioli. Alongside it come a traditional sauce, a simple starter and a dessert, such as tiramisù.

We adapt the programme to you: a vegetarian menu, a class devoted to fish on the coast, a lesson designed for children.

Who it is for

Couples choose it for an evening out of the ordinary, families on holiday to keep everyone together in the kitchen, companies as a group activity before dinner. It also works well for small groups of friends renting a villa for a week.

We work in Florence and across Tuscany, and we bring the cooking class to villas in the other Italian destinations where we follow our guests. The team speaks Italian, English, French, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to cook to take part?

No. The chef guides you step by step, and the class works both for people who have never made pasta and for those who cook often.

How long does the cooking class last?

It depends on the programme: usually an afternoon in the kitchen, followed by dinner. We agree it together based on your evening.

Can children take part?

Yes, and it is often the part they enjoy most. We can design a programme suitable for the little ones too.

Where does the lesson take place?

In the kitchen of your villa or home, in Florence, across Tuscany and in the other places where we work. We bring the ingredients and equipment.

In which language is it held?

In Italian, English, French, Spanish, Russian or Portuguese, depending on the guests.
