How much does a private chef cost in Italy in 2026
The question always comes, and it should come early. In Italy the price of a private chef varies a lot: from platform offers around 50 euros per person to high-end evenings above 250 euros per person, and events quoted at a flat fee.
This guide explains what drives the figure, what should be included and how to compare two quotes without surprises. For Tuscany we have a dedicated guide.
The price bands on the market
On platforms that connect you with independent chefs, dinners often start at 50 to 100 euros per person, with prices falling as the guest count grows. Independent chefs with a good reputation usually sit between 90 and 200 euros. High-end service, with floor staff, premium produce and someone running the evening, often goes above 250 euros per person.
Syntonia dinners sit roughly between 90 and 250 euros per person, depending on menu, number of guests and place. The quote is always tailored.

What pushes the price up or down
The biggest factors are the number of guests, the number of courses, the produce chosen (truffle, raw fish, prime cuts), floor staff, distance and logistics, and the season. Peak dates such as holidays and summer weekends cost more.
For multi-day stays the cost per day falls compared with a single dinner, because the logistics are spread over more services.

What should be included
A serious quote covers the shopping and ingredients, the chef's work on site, table service and the final clean-up of the kitchen. The usual extras are wine, additional staff, styling and long-distance travel.
Be wary of prices that don't say what they include: that is where surprises come from. We write every item down before you confirm.
