How much does a private chef cost in Tuscany?

The service is bespoke and every quote is tailored. As a market reference, a high-end private chef in Italy typically ranges from roughly €90 to €250 per person, depending on the menu, the number of guests and the location. Syntonia works in the luxury segment and builds each proposal around your specific event, tell us what you have in mind and we'll prepare a detailed quote.

Is the price per person or per event? What drives it?

A quote reflects several factors: number of guests, number of courses and menu level, selected ingredients and produce, optional wine pairing, location and logistics, and the date (holidays and peak season affect pricing). For larger groups the per-person cost tends to fall. We set everything out transparently before you confirm.

What's included in the service?

The experience is complete: bespoke menu design, shopping and selection of the finest local produce, on-site cooking, discreet table service and a full kitchen clean-up. On request we add wine pairing, styling and dedicated front-of-house staff.

How it works

How does a private chef dinner at home or in a villa work?

We agree the menu, timings and details in advance. On the day, the chef arrives ahead of time (usually two to three hours before service) with fresh ingredients, cooks in your kitchen, presents and serves each course at the table and, at the end, leaves the kitchen exactly as they found it. You simply enjoy your guests.

What's the difference between a private chef and catering?

Catering prepares food in an off-site kitchen and delivers it ready-made, convenient for large numbers, less suited to à-la-minute dishes. A private chef is a dedicated cook who prepares everything on-site, on the spot, and plates course by course at your table: a bespoke gastronomic experience, typically for intimate groups and finished to the last detail.

What does the home or villa kitchen need?

A working domestic kitchen is usually enough. The chef adapts to the available space, from a Tuscan villa to a penthouse or a yacht galley. If anything specific is needed, we review it together beforehand.

Menus, diets and wine

Can I customise the menu?

Yes, every menu is built around your tastes and the occasion: Italian or international cuisine, tasting journeys or signature dishes. Share your preferences and we design the proposal accordingly.

Do you handle allergies, intolerances and special diets (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, halal)?

Yes. Our chefs are used to accommodating allergies, intolerances and specific regimes, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, halal and more. Just flag your needs while we design the menu and we build them in with care.

Is wine pairing available?

Yes, on request. We can propose a dedicated wine pairing or showcase the labels you prefer, with discreet, knowledgeable table service.

Where, when and how many

Where does Syntonia operate?

We are based in Tuscany, with a strong presence in Florence, Forte dei Marmi and Versilia, as well as Chianti, and we travel throughout Italy and, for dedicated projects, abroad, including on board yachts under way.

How far in advance should I book?

The sooner the better to secure availability. As a guide, a few days can be enough in the low season; in high season (June to September) one to two weeks is advisable, and for holidays three to four weeks. Do get in touch regardless, we always try to accommodate you.

How many guests do you cook for? Is there a minimum?

We look after everything from an intimate dinner for two to large events in a villa or on a yacht. We tailor the menu, service and organisation to the number of guests and the type of occasion.

What occasions can I request a private chef for?

Romantic dinners and anniversaries, birthdays, villa parties, yacht events, intimate weddings, family dinners and special occasions, as well as corporate and hospitality events. We design the experience around the occasion.
